My school is offering me a business concentration on Finance, management, management of info systems(MIS), marketing, retail management, Technology & innovation management(TIM), and accounting.

I was first leaning towards focusing on accounting. But then went to my orientation and started thinking of other options. Which concentration do you think would to the better paying, more stable job?

You really should be focusing on whatever interests you the most. Not only will you be more rewarded in the terms of gpa now, but with your future career as well. You will be spending a minimum of 8 hours a day (more like 10+ when I was in business) at your job…don’t you want to be doing what interests you?

Life isn’t only about money. Although money can bring you some satisfaction in your life, it’s much better if you have fun earning this money.

Business overall is pretty stable and high-paying if you are a good professional. If are unsure, I would just start taking core Business courses and then see how it goes. The core includes courses from different disciplines and concentrations, so you will have a chance to see how like everything.

Yeah, I’m studying Business Administration at UW-S and I decided not to have a concentration at all, because I want to take a variety of classes. That’s also an option. But if you do want to concentrate on one subject, do the one that interests you most. If you don’t know what that is now, you probably will after taking some of the core business classes.
