Hi All,
D decided to attend USC, after much soul-searching, versus a much more affordable school. But decide she did. She submitted her deposit just this past weekend and we're waiting for follow up documents. I thought I heard somewhere that student home game tickets have to be purchased by May 18th. Is there a way she can go about doing this if we don't get anything from the school soon? She would like to go to games for sure and I don't want her to miss out just because she took the full month to make her decision.

Last fell, son bought his student ticket the first week of school. Perhaps you heard about buying reserved seats? The student season pass allows them to sit in the student section. It is coded into their ID.

Ah, so would that be something like a cheering section that’s first come first served? That’s what I recall from my college football games (at another school).
Do they have buses to the stadium? Do they still play at the Coliseum? Did they ever play at the Coliseum (newbie!)?

Student season tickets usually don’t go on sale until the summer. They automatically send an email out to all current, incoming, and transfer students letting them know when they can purchase them.

All home games are played at the coliseum which is literally across the street from campus. Everyone generally tailgates and has a good time on campus during the day and then marches over to the coliseum for the kickoff. Student section is open seating so to get the best seats in that section the students usually need to line up early at the student entrance on the north side of the coliseum however. Pretty much every seat in that section is a good seat though and I could never pry myself away from tailgating early enough to sit within the first 5 rows.

Congratulations on your D’s decision! I hope you can make it out to Parents Weekend and get a taste of a great USC football game at the coliseum for yourself! The tailgates are so much fun and the university and several organizations hold amazing bbq’s on campus. Then the Trojan Marching Band comes marching through campus and everyone joins the parade and follows them across the street. Very easy. So much fun!

New students can purchase season tickets for 2012 mid-July through August 8.

Great to hear. When I lived in LA, we had to drive a fair amount to get to the Coliseum. So now, one of our most pressing questions has been answered.

Fight on!

BTW They get to buy two guest tickets. See you at the game :)

They will get student ID at orientation then will be able to buy tickets is how I undstand it. I had to find out; his four uncles bug me about it every time I see them !!

The two guest tickets purchase option only becomes available when an unusually low number of students purchase season tickets for a given season. From what I understand the last time it happened before last season was maybe in 2005? With all the hype I would be surprised if student season tickets don’t sell out for this next year…

Sad Face :(
