Stupid question...but just curious

Again, sorry if this is a really stupid question but: how do you guys choose to include lunch in your schedule? Isn't it automatically included in the school bell schedule?
So those of you that do not have lunch in your schedule, do you guys just go hungry until 3PM??

Lunch is mandatory (legally) in all states if you live in the US, IIRC? They are included automatically in your schedule. Mine never really listed when it was, but we had a bell schedule of “lunch 1” and “lunch 2” which was determined by what 4th period class you had. For example, we would go to class, go to lunch, then go to 5th period (lunch 2) OR go to lunch, go to class, then 5th period (lunch 1).

i didn’t take lunch last year. all i had to do was get my parents to sign something to say it’s okay.

as far as going hungry, i would try to eat during the school day, but usually, yeah, i was just hungry.

At my school there would be no point in skipping lunch to take a class because each lunch is only half an hour long and the class would end up overlapping with the other classes you were taking. And no class goes through all three lunches, so lunch is automatically included in your schedule.

At my high school, lunch was just automatically included. We had 7 classes, and you would go to lunch either before or after your 5th class, depending on what lunch session you were assigned.

Lunch is incorporated into our 4th and 5th periods. Those periods are two hours long. Class is an hour and a half and lunch takes up the other half hour.

Lunch is part of our fourth period class - we either have first, second, third, or fourth lunch. The fourth period block is 2 hours long and the lunch period is either the first, second, third, or fourth thirty minute interval in that block, depending on your class. For instance, all science classes have first or fourth lunch because the school doesn’t want AP Science labs to be disrupted by the lunch period, while English classes typically have second lunch (so you go to class for 1/2 hour, go to lunch, and then go back to the same class for another hour.)

How do you guys survive without lunch?? If I don’t have my caffeinated tea and high-in-protein meal, I would be dead by sixth period.

At my school, lunch is automatically included in your schedule. All students except for freshmen are allowed to go off-campus and get pizza or something, so they have freshman lunch right after third period during our fourth period, and then the sophomore/juniors/seniors have their lunch during the freshman fourth period.

My school is essentially the same as preamble1776’s. Our classes are 83 minutes but our third block is 110 minutes. 83 for class time, 27 for a designated lunch period. There are 4 lunch periods and your class goes to the same one. I have 2nd lunch with my Spanish class on Green Days and 4th lunch with my Biotech Engineering class on White Days.

Last year my school also had “nutrition break” between first and second block (around 9:30). It was a double-length passing period so that we had time to eat a snack. 4th lunch students definitely took advantage! They got rid of it this year though because everyone left the common area a complete mess, with food and wrappers everywhere.
