stupid question re: GA tech fin aid

I am trying to fill out GA tech's own financial aid application. I've copied and pasted the third "question" below. There are check-boxes for each of the types of aid listed and it asks you to check which ones you are requesting. I feel really ignorant, but we just want to apply for whatever may be available that my son may be eligible for. Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks.

Types/Sources of Aid Requested: If you are seeking financial assistance from any of the following sources, additional forms/documents will be required. Please visit the Georgia Tech Financial Aid web site for more information.
Federal awards requiring the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Federal Work Study - Student Employment Program
Federal Direct Subsidized Student Loan
Federal Direct Unsubsidized Student Loan
Federal Direct PLUS Loan - For Parent(s) of Dependent Undergraduate Students
Federal Direct Grad PLUS Loan - Must be a graduate student to apply/qualify for this loan program

Institutional awards requiring the FAFSA

Grants and Institutional Scholarships from Georgia Tech
Student Loans from Georgia Tech

State awards requiring the FAFSA or the Georgia Scholarship/Grant Application (GSFAPPS)
HOPE Scholarship - Restricted to undergraduate students classified as Georgia Residents pursuing their 1st undergraduate degree

Institutional / Non-Federal awards that do not require the FAFSA

Institutional scholarships that do not require the FAFSA - restricted to only a limited number of non-need based programs

If he is an undergrad from Georgia I would check all the options except the Grad student plus loans as he would not be eligible. If he is not from Georgia then not the Hope as it is for GA residents only.

Thank you!
