Haha. Worst year. Ever. (so far)

oh, why is it so bad?!?

Classes. Grades. Stress.

Tell me that senior year is easier. Is it?

no way, senior year is way harder. but i have to admit, the parties are much better...

and the stress you feel now is nothing compared to the stress you feel when applying to college.

Yeah, I thought that it would be harder, considering that I've already asked seven seniors or so. Most of them said that it was harder because of the college apps (in addition to schoolwork), which means more stress.

yeah, it is more stressful, so enjoy this time of relatively low stress.

relatively low stress. doesn't even seem like that.

sleeping at two is now the norm for me.

that was the norm for me last year too. but i don't know, as i reflect on junior year, it seems like it was easier than senior year.

Well, i'm just stressed out because i have three APs, in addition to music and club activities. I participate in sports too, but that is only during the fall season. I don't know how I am going to survive. I have finals in two weeks. Life is falling apart.

i know how you feel. last year, around feb/march i realized that i had a huge music competition, ap exams, and club obligations and my parents told me that we were moving to a different state. i got so stressed out. and when i get stressed i stop eating, so i lost like 10 pounds in 2 weeks, it was extremely unhealthy, now that i think about it...

Wow. That's a big move. Where are you originally from?

i'm originally from Chicago. so it was a huge adjustment to Ohio...

My school approved ID to be taught in science classrooms.

Also, at my school the dress code demands only collared polo-style shirts. I'm fine with that, but the kicker is that only the solid colors of white, grey, green, and blue are allowed. No striped polo shirts, and absolutely no alternative colors allowed. They don't allow oxford (button down) shirts either. I'm all for trying to make students look nice, but at least have some consistency! Why isn't a red or yellow polo shirt good enough? What about stripes? They look nice! Why in the world are oxford shirts not allowed? I can't wait to get out of high school.

Do you live in Kansas? They recently approved ID again.

Also, for any of you guys that are reading this: If you don't have a Student Life Committee (SLC), you should consider petitioning for one to be established at your school. It is basically a group of students from all class levels and they help make the school a better place (tolerable) with the cooperation of the Dean. For example, our SLC recently approved the use of iPods and CD players during free periods, so it does some good.

logisticswizard- nope, i dont go to pope john but my english teacher is good friends with rev. mchugh and was telling us one day about the issue and read us the article in the paper and what not

other ridiculous things i thought of:
-we only have 2 minutes between classes but we have two separate buildings and half the time you have to go up at least 10 flights of stairs (literally) just to get to your next class. not to mention our teachers always keep us late and we get in trouble if we start to leave when the bell rings because it's rude
..then the principal always tells us not to keep our backpacks so full with books, but what exactly are we supposed to do? there's no time to go to your locker to changes books except during your lunch period
-lunch periods are only 20 minutes, regular class periods being 45
-when we have accelerated schedules, on the schedule literally it will say the classes are Period A 8:10-8:47 Period B 8:47-9:24 so we are magically supposed to appear in our next class? and teachers arent reasonable about it either

we're not allowed to wear socks that don't cover our ankles...weirddd

My school seems pretty okay compared to the other schools. Still, the only thing that really stuck out in my mind as strange was not really a rule but something that happened for our junior ring dance. We needed a theme for the dance and the class chose Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. The principal denied it. Her reason was that Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights was not an appropriate theme since Cuba is communist lol.....

I think we chose everlasting sunset or something as the replacement...

hahaha shaddix lol

What do you guys think about over-the-counter drugs at school? Bringing ibuprofen when you have a fever but have to go to class anyway for a test, or something of the sort. I personally feel that it's entirely justified, because you're sacrificing your health to be there and being punished for that seems entirely absurd, but we've had kids suspended for three days so apparently the administration feels otherwise.
