Subject a, writing test

is it hard? i got a 29 on the ACT. i just missed the exemption. :frowning: is it a lot harder than what’s on the ACT?

please help...

From what i've heard, if you can put a coherent essay together, you should be fine. As long as your essay makes sense, it'll be ok

What is the score for passing in this exam?

you have two hours to write it, and you can leave once your finished. I got a 10 on the sat writing, im feeling pretty good about this.

I have no clue what the lowest acceptable level is. Does anyone know how it compaires to AP scoring(not the 1-5... the essay score)? kuz thats a language that i DO understand-- AP scoring.

lol probably a 2-3

haha. if thats the standard i am set! lol.

my sister said that when she started college 3 years ago, if you hadn't met the requirement, you took the exam on campus in the fall AFTER you recieve ap scores. i dont see why they make us do it when we can possibly pass the ap lit test, other than to reach a little further down into our pockets..

I know for UCLA, the passing score is an 8.

I am not a native English speaker, English is my second language. I got 6 on the my first SAT essay and 8 on the my second SAT essay, do I have the chance to pass? I am really frustrated about this

what score do i need for UCSD....

So a 10 on the SAT writing is not good enough?

look at it this way: The SAT writing is only 30min while the subject A test is 2 hours writing exam. They would expect you to write better than you write at SAT writing.

And you don't have to take it during May. You can always wait until Fall but that means you lose flexibility with class scheduling.
