Does it matter which math subject you take? Would II look better than I?

if you’re decent at math and are aiming to get 800, then you’d have an easier time taking the II (you can miss more questions and still get an 800). i don’t know if it looks better-- it probably does, but i’m not sure.

The UC’s only take Math II so I think it would look better.

Yes it does look better. Mudd specifically requires 2. Franklin W. olin RECOMENDS 2.
and if u are good at math, take 2 ( like shen said)
I took math 1 and regret taking it instead of 2

If you are applying for engineering, math, and probably science, then the math II is the better choice. I was told by someone who should know that it doesn’t matter if you aren’t applying for some quantitative field.

If you have completed precalc, take M2 since it has a better “curve” and the material will be more fresh. In general, liberal arts programs don’t care which one you take, but enginering-tech-science programs definitely prefer M2.

Can you take both and pick the best out of the two? Or would that be a waste of time?

sure you can take both, but likely a waste of time. If you can score well on M2, take it.

Does the Math II just have trig/precalc? Or do you need some knowledge of BC as well?

just precalc…
