Hear me out, but I don’t know whether I should submit this subject test score to the top schools (ie. Stanford, Princeton, etc.) because a 790 on math II is like the 75% nationwide and most of the schools have a 800-800 middle 50%. Also this is the only subject test I was able to take before COVID.
Only on College Confidential and Reddit’s A2C do people think a 790is not good.
It’s excellent. Send.
Keep in mind that a 790 is 74th percentile of a very selective group of students that choose to take Math2.
I haven’t seen “most of the schools have a 800-800 middle 50%”. Maybe Caltech or MIT. With both of them no longer using Subject Test scores, I don’t imagine there’s anywhere else that 790 would be out of the middle 50%. Such data is hard to find - do you have confirmed sources for 800-800?
A certain blog (of sometimes dubious accuracy) says “ MIT has said that its admitted students score between 720 (~60th percentile) and 800 on science Subject Tests, whereas admitted applicants to Princeton generally score 710-790 on Subject Tests.”
I say send it.
My son scored 790 on Math Level 2 and was accepted by Princeton.
He must have been hooked, then. jk ?
