Hello all. I had a quick question about AP tests. I recently took the BC Calc AP test and received a 5. I didn’t take the class, though, because it conflicted with my schedule, so I taught myself (thank you khan academy). When I apply to colleges, how will I let them know I’m proficient in Calculus? I’ve heard that most of the time you send your AP scores after you’ve been accepted, but I want them to consider this score during the admissions process. Thanks for the help!
Unless things have changed in the last year, the common app allows students to self report AP scores - so you will be able to indicate your 5 on the BC exam there. You are correct that generally you only send official scores to the school you are attending after acceptance/final decision to attend.
You can list AP scores on the Common App. The official report only needs to be sent to the college you are attending
Presumably you’d be taking a more advanced math class as a senior, which will show on your current schedule.
Thank you guys for the help. I appreciate it!
