Submitting Financial Aid for Community College

The deadline according to FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid
for California is March 2, but beneath that it says for additional community college awards - Sept 2, what does this mean? Does that mean community college students submit theirs Sept 2, or does it mean community college students submit it on March 2 also but get awards later?

My parents say for community college i don't need to fill financial aid packet, but my counselors tell me to. Can anybody clarify who is right?

And how does financial aid work for community college?

Thanks in advance for replies.

Hmm.. I dont really have any experience with that.. but I'm assuming that your parents can afford to pay for community college, which is why they're telling you that you dont need to fill one out. Correct me if I'm wrong...

Submit it by March 2 to get priority (aka more money). After that, CCC students can still apply, but essentially get leftovers. Thats what I've heard but check your college's website, they'll have a financial aid section.

Just to add, definitely apply for financial aid. It's free money. They send you a check and it's yours to keep. No obligations and you can use it for "educational purposes" cough cough

I can not agree with SkWz any more.
get the money, study hard and play hard. remember, you dicide how to spend it!!
