thats a loser mentality.
just stop. its self-destructive

this forum has collective issues

There are lots of a-holes that try to put you down by saying stuff like, “that’s so Asian” or assume that you’re trying to get into Harvard. But the good news is that you probably wouldn’t hang out with them anyways because they’re ■■■■■■■■. Being Asian can be tough, especially in high school, when lots of people are ignorant, shallow, and insecure. But hang in there. It’ll get better. If a girl doesn’t go out with you just because you’re Asian, then that’s her loss. And if your friends don’t want to hang with you because you’re Asian, then they are ****tards.

well put tikiman

im loling at this thread and op

Uh…no. Why would you say that?

That’s such a negative perspective. Don’t be such a cynic.

hey, I’m proud to be chinese

well, i live in the whitest state in the nation, and i have to say, it’s a pretty good life here.

I’m Chinese and proud!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this up in my other post, but just get buff. If you’re ripped, no one will mess with you no matter what race you are :)

(Unless you are already buff. In which case you should just beat the crap out of those racist bastards)

I’m not asian, but I do have alot of asian friends. I’d say it sucks to be an asian in high school for the following reasons

1) MUCH MORE pressure from parents- some of my friends have a ridiculous amount of stress put on them from their parents to get good grades, do well on tests, and get into a good college. One of my friend’s mom’s grounded/yelled at her for just HAVING an A- in Japanese for a short period of time, she ended up with an A.

2) More forced activities- this isn’t as common place, but I’ve seen it alot. Asian parents making their kid do SAT/ACT classes, play a musical instrument, etc. I guess it’s moreso the parents making their kid do it from a young age though, and they learn to like/accept it. Part of it is in an effort to get their kid into college.

3) Alot of them MAKE their kids do the hardest classes possible- I go to a school with the IB program, and obviously there are a fair amount of asians in the school (I live in Washington), and furthermore most of them are in the IB program. Some of them really shouldn’t be in the full-IB diploma route, but rather just take a couple, because some of them struggle with math or science, and some of them struggle with english and SS. I know one girl who got a 2.5 in the program in our sophomore year.

4) SO GOD DAMNED MANY OF THEM I KNOW ARE ****ING COLLEGE RESUME WHORES- ok, we’ve all seen them, the resume stacker or the exaggerator. A fair amount of them run for…whatever position they can in whatever, student office, asb, various clubs, etc. Of course, it’s not just asians who do this, but I notice it more among them. When 90% of people running for honor society are asian, you know they are resume whores, at my school anyway.

5) We have IB chinese levels 100, 200, and 300 at our school…and for some reason we let chinese kids take those classes. IB is supposed to be a learning experience, and some chinese-asians are filling their 6th IB class with chinese, which is ****ing easy for them, since they all speak it already. I went to the IB coordinators with this problem, but they can’t omit kids from a class because of that reason. And it’s not just chinese kids in chinese, japanese kids in japanese, german in german, spanish in spanish, french in french! if you are fluent in a language you shouldn’t be taking a class on it.

6) For college…it’s just ****ing hard to be an asian, you are the highest group of degree earning ethnicities, and the 2nd largest group in colleges. Being asian is held against you even if you are dirt poor, and no one in your family went to college prior. I know a smart girl who didn’t get into UW, but she got into some of her reaches, but didn’t get enough financial aid, so she is going to her 2nd safety WWU.

Nope.

Embrace your heritage!

if you think it sucks to be asian, it probably will

why does it suck to be asian in high school only? if you think it sucks then you’re implying it simply sucks to be asian. so stop complaining and deal with it like the other gajillion CCers (and me) that are Asian.

Doesn’t suck if you’re a cool asian :]

I’m asian and I hang only with jocks or white people no offense…Because asian/hispanics/africans americans population here is 0.01%.

Tip: Get to know other people and don’t be shy.

i ain’t cool. i’m nifty… niftaaayy.
