Sucky Senior Schedule

Hey guys, so I was planning to make a schedule change. However, a counselor told me it will be highly unlikely. (Only one of the 10 or so counselors is there during the summer).

I need to get in contact with the AP teacher to get his approval depending on if there's room in one of his classes.

I can go to vice principal like I've done before because my own counselor doesn't like to make any changes, but let's just say, I'm probably not one of his favorite students..... Haha.

We do programming at the end of first semester because my school is so big and offers so many classes (therefore its hard to plan each student's schedule). So I guess that's why, even though school is a month away, its a little "last minute".

My Planned Schedule:
AP Physics
AP Extended Physics
AP Calculus
AP Microeconomics
Honors World Literature
Honors Horticulture
AP Government & Politics (US)

My Schedule:
AP Physics
AP Extended Physics
AP Calculus
AP Microeconomics
Honors World Literature
Honors Horticulture
Honors Italian I

YES, I took Italian because it was meant to be a little bit of a "breather". Many top students, including Ivy League students, do take it senior year.

However, my stats aren't the greatest. Will it effect my chances? Thanks!

It will probably affect you negatively. You’d be dropping an AP class… something that is NEVER recommended when you’re applying to colleges. You want to maintain the course rigor your senior year, not lighten your course load to have a “breather”.
Sorry for being kinda blunt, but really that’s not a very good decision.

are either of those schedules meant to be weak??

I think either schedule would be fine.

I really wouldn’t worry much about a schedule that already has 4 APs. Plus the fact that the non-AP class Italian is significantly different than the APUSH course, so it looks more like you decided to take a language (legitimate academic choice).
