Sufficient SAT for HARVARD!?

Well I guess you sort of need context but:

SAT I (March): 710 M 730 CR (I can go higher) 800 W Total 2240
GPA: 3.9-4.0 W, 3.8-3.9 UW
Rank: 4-5/300
Courseload: Hardest Possible
Status: African American 100k over

Should I retake the SAT (with preparation of course) or not even bother? I'm not looking for a 2400, just a solid chance at Harvard statistics wise. Please don't give me "Your an URM your in already".

I think that your score is sufficient for top-tier but some people on CC might disagree with me (perfectionist psychos).

Ya, your stats are cool. Just make sure you have ECs to back it up.

You're stats are okay... no need to retake SAT..won't help unless you are 100% sure you can get above a 2350.

dont retake...you're an URM, you're in

I second Sheed30, spend that time w/ essays/volunteering/etc.

How does your school weight? If you're school weights an honors and/or AP as a 5, then how can you have a 3.9 WGPA and still ahve a hard courseload?

yeah, that was what I was thinking too, since u've hardest course load there gotta be a big difference btw W and UW GPAs.(for most cases)

some schools add .1 only for Ap and honor classes..

how exactly do you know he's "in"... did you read his letters of rec, essays, etc...

no, but i assume they're at least decent. With the stats he's givin, you can't deny that he has a very...very good shot
