Suggestion for the constant "chances" threads

Perhaps those who want to participate in the "chances" posts/threads can either place them in the "what are my chances" forum or, if you wish to do it in the Tulane forum, keep them all in one thread and add your individual stats rather than starting new threads over and over. Thanks.

I’m pretty tired of the “chance me threads”. When my S applied to Tulane last year, I used this forum to get feedback or answers about Tulane. It was very helpful. As for the chance me posts …if think you want to go to Tulane, just apply.

I have never liked the chance me posts, in that no one here can really say anything meaningful. Stats alone are not enough to allow for a full evaluation, and we cannot really know the rest, such as the essay, the recs, and the intangibles. I figure it is a way for nervous students to try and calm their nerves or feel like they are doing something, so I give feedback that I always try to qualify as above.

I think purplemom has it nailed though. Especially at Tulane with their free app and their rapid response in most cases, just apply.

My S’s GC practically snorted at us with derision when in his Jr yr he said he was interested in Tulane. Now he is settling in nicely there

Do you have any idea what was the source of the GC’s opinion (ill informed as it obviously was)?
