My daughter is attending GTs open house on Monday but our plane tickets were hugely cheaper to fly in Saturday night instead of Sunday, so we have the whole day to spend in the area. Any suggestions? I have a rental car but hate traffic . . .

Just about anything you wanna do you’ll find it somewhere around here within a 15-20 minute walk from campus. Plus on the weekends there isn’t very much traffic especially on Sunday. My friends and I usually walk everywhere though because the city is so nice. Just be wary at night because it does get kinda weird out there.

World of Coke
Aquarium
High Museum of Art

Glad to hear you will be visiting this weekend! GT’s website has all kinds of advice for visiting, put in “Atlanta” and “hotels” in the search box and you will get tons of information. It is tricky driving downtown, several streets go from two-way to one-way and they are lots of one-way streets so be careful. Luckily, traffic is minimal on the weekend. It should be great weather for walking, too. Have a wonderful time! Taste of Atlanta is going on this weekend, too -if you think you would like a food festival.

Yeah, don’t miss Taste of Atlanta ( [Taste of Atlanta - October 5+6+7, 2012](http://tasteofatlanta.com/) ). It’s actually technically on campus, on the little part called Tech Square which is basically downtown.

CNN Office - escorted 1 hour tour. Close to Coke/Olympic park.
