Summer 2012 Transfers

Yeah there is no set date for transfers. It’s rolling for transfers so it can take a few weeks or much longer.

Congratulations to those accepted!

I made an account in order to reply: I’m an OOS (hopeful) upper-division transfer and will have my AA degree in May. I applied to FSU for the fall 2012 semester around the middle-end of January (if that makes sense). FSU has received all credentials needed and for a while, my transcripts were being “evaluated.” Since then, the status has remained at “received.”

I’m getting worried because other users have said their credentials were sent on to the college/department of their major within just a few weeks.

Is it too early to expect a decision? Will FSU require a final transcript after I receive my AA before even making a final decision?

I’ve already been accepted to the University of Alabama (also OOS), but I’m really interested in FSU.

FSU takes anywhere from 6-8 weeks (sometimes longer) to get a decision after they send it to the appropriate department to get reviewed. They can accept you prior to receiving your AA, as long as you graduate before the term you plan to enroll in. They will request you send your final transcript w/ degree posted before you officially start your classes in the fall.

Thank you for replying! I saw the screenshot of your acceptance page on another thread, congratulations.

So in other words, I still have yet to see the status: “has been sent to appropriate department for review”?

Thanks
They are probably focused on freshman applicants at the moment as they will be getting decisions soon. You’ll probably see some change in your status check after freshmen applicants get their decisions in a week.
FSU seems to take forever w their decisions for transfers. I know how frustrating it can be. Hope you find out soon!

Congrats on anyone who does get summer transfers. Summer is a pretty fun time, although it does get pretty hot :(. Hit 110 last year

That makes sense - the focus on freshman applicants. I guess I’m just anxious, as I’m sure others can relate.

Thanks though!

Anyone hear back yet?

I went to Orientation a few days ago and it was pretty fun and informative. I was able to register for my Summer & Fall classes finally.
It was my first time seeing the campus and it was amazing. Loved it and can’t wait to go back and start taking classes!

Congratulations on everyone accepted for the summer! If you guys are looking to live off campus for the summer, I am trying to sublet my apartment. I can also help answer any questions about off campus housing.

Just got accepted this afternoon! I checked it this morning and it was still the same. Then I just checked again and it say Congratulations…!!! Congrats to everyone else accepted as well.

Logged on and saw my acceptance yesterday. I will not be attending though because I have changed my major to something requiring entirely different prerequisites.
Congrats to the other acceptees!

Congrats to both!
@Tinuviel
What are you changing your major to?

I’ve changed to engineering (bioengineering or similar) - something I was considering for quite awhile. I’ll be going to UCF instead.
Good luck with FSU, hope it works out well for you!

I finally found out I got in today. I was accepted at UF back in mid-February and was disappointed at how long it took to hear back from FSU (I sent both applications/transcripts off at the same time). My first choice was UF and I’m all set to go. I’d be really stressed if I wanted to attend FSU and still had to go through things like dorms, finaid, orientation etc. Still, I’m surprised I got accepted to either, since I’m coming from a Colorado cc.

Still, I hope the transfers who decide to go to FSU enjoy it!

Congrats! UF was a blast, I never wanted to leave, but I did what was best for my future. FSU is pretty cool too, just in a completely different way.
