Summer Advice for Rising Senior

This summer I will be a rising senior. Unfortunately, I have been rejected from the top summer programs MITES, SSP, and SAMS. However, I got accepted to my backup programs, though they are not that prestigious/selective. I'm looking for advice on what I should do this summer. By the way, I'm interested in engineering. Here are my options:

1) Cornell Summer College (Cornell Engineering Experience - 6 weeks)
2) Stevens Summer (Exploring Career Options in Engineering and Science - 2 weeks)
3) Get a job, and study for standardized tests
4) Take classes at local community college

Also, I'm still waiting on decisions for:
1) MIT LLRISE (if accepted, I will go)
2) Columbia Summer Programs for High School Students (Intro to Engineering - 2.5 weeks)

Any advice will be appreciated.

If you can afford it, the Cornell program seems good, partly because of the length. A longer program allows you to dig into something in more depth, which is always good.

@intparent Yes, I got the financial aid I needed so it wouldn’t be a problem.
