Sorry for some reason it blocks out the facebook, it’ll work if you type in facebook .com where the asterisks are

Hi guys, I’m coming to the course for two weeks in June. I’m from Britain and I’m equivalent to a junior in the American school system. I sent a request to join the fb group, so hopefully I’ll be able to chat to some of you soon :)

Hi i’m going to be doing the summer@brown program this year and i was wondering what your experiences were like? In particular anyone who took an economics based program?
@annabanana136 it was an amazing experience! I met so many cool people from around the world and kept some great friends. I still talk to my teacher as well. It pushes you to move outside your comfort zone and get that college feel (ie walking to classes, to meals [in all types of weather, rly hot + rly rainy, for my 2 week session], attending events). Just pray you don’t get assigned a grad dorm lol (they’re singles but kinda sucky). Msg me if you have any further questions - summer@brown was one of my greatest hs experiences.
I was just accepted for the Summer@Brown 2015 session and I’m thinking of doing a science course but I am worried about going as a rising sophomore and being very young compared to everyone else. Anything that can put my mind at ease?
@malpal97 I have a few questions about your experience if you don’t mind answering:)
Could you tell me what your typical day was be like? Were there many people in your class? Were there many senior students? Did you attend any of the seminars? if so which ones? and were they good? Sorry just really curious as to how everything works and what it’s like
@anna2k15 Hi! I loved summer@brown. If you are taking 1 class, you have just that absolute obligation. However there were set times that dining halls were open. I’d wake up early to make sure I got some breakfast then go to the library to do my hw, my class was in the afternoon which made it perfect to relax after and save work til the next day. Courseload was a bit heavy but super manageable. Classes are long because they have only a few weeks to teach, but you usually get a break and are allowed to have coffee etc. My class had 10 but every class is different. Then after class you can do what you want, I’d get hangout and get food with friends, and at night everyone would hang around outside. My last night I went into the city and saw a free show, there’s also Providence Waterfire some weekends.
There was a mixture of students, many grade levels soph-senior. I went to a study abroad seminar and an interview seminar, they can be boring but I enjoyed the interview one since it was advice for what was ahead in the app process. Nothing to be sorry about! You’ll have a great time, just be open and welcoming. I still talk to some of my friends now!
Thank you so much!
Is anyone in the brown leadership institute? Opinions? Suggestions? I can’t find anyone :o
