What is it like? Is it hard to make friends? Do most people go alone, or do they usually bring friends with them. What should I expect? I’m not exactly super outgoing…but I’m friendly

Most people go alone, and yes, it’s very easy to make friends.

I’ve heard a lot of people hook up and stuff…hahaha is that true? :)

Anybody still active here??

Hi I’m here

U coming to summer@brown??
Btw, M going from 18-30 June.

Yep, it’s true.

so this program isn’t really impressive or important at all? I’m thinking of applying to a 6 week fellowship at a nonprofit organization instead. seems really interesting.

summer@brown was really kinda a backup plan but anyway thanks for the insight

I am going to S@B this summer and was wondering what supplies I need to bring. Should I bring a laptop, notebook, etc.? Also, do most classes have additional books that you buy at the bookstore? Also how much does it cost to rent a fan? Thanks for your help.

I went last summer, and it was honestly SO amazing. One of the best times of my life. Your course should let you know what you need depending on what you take. I took Laboratory Research in Biomedicine and brought a notebook, pens, pencils, and a calculator(which I didn’t really need). The class also required some course readings and lab instructions, which we purchased from the Brown bookstore. I don’t know if most classes had additional books but I would assume so. Everything you need will be available for purchase at the bookstore so don’t worry. I would bring your laptop just because it would suck not to have it for a week or more, and you have a lot of down time! I don’t really remember how much it cost to rent a fan because I rented both a fan and a mini fridge. It wasn’t more than 200 dollars though, I’m guessing. My roommate and I had 3 fans altogether and were comfortable.

It takes about 45$ to rent a fan. And, I would advice you to bring a laptop
Anyone from 18th June to 29th June??

I went last summer for 3 weeks. Best experience of my life. I am super shy and went by myself, but I made some really great friends and had a fantastic time! Don’t be worried!

Also, I took Neuroscience in Health and Disease, which required me to purchase a “course pack” for pretty cheap and a textbook. There was also an optional textbook that I bought. You are allowed to sell your textbooks back to the bookstore once your course ends, but I decided to keep mine.

@Mrinal2207: do we take our laptop to classes ?

I think so…They allow it. And, I can’t live without one

Hiiiii :3

Im taking Infectious and epidemic disease, anyone else taking it?

I’m taking ‘So You Think You Want to be a Doctor’. Anybody else taking it? Has anybody taken it before? How are the bathrooms? Are the showers individual? meaning, do they separate them with curtains? Im sooooo excited! I’ll be there from June 17th to July 6th.

Herthoughts:

Of course the showers are individual. I don’t think there’s a college in the country that has communal showers, except maybe in gym locker rooms. The bathrooms vary greatly depending on what dorm you’ll be in.

Hi I’m taking ‘So What’s Up Doc?’ from June 25th to June 29th!

Guys there is a group on fb for s@b!
