Summer class?

Hey i am taking a summer class, so i can get a little ahead for premed. And it would also make my schedule easier for the upcoming years. Anyways, my question is that if i decide later this summer that i dont want to take the credit and drop the class, Will it be still on my transcript? Can i just go to the admission office and say dont send my credit from summer school? If i do this, i would take the same course again, which would be no prob to me. I dont want to make this decision without taking some classes first this summer.

The reason for this question is that I might just want to stick to another course load next year without the summer courses. Sometimes i think there is no reason to rush everything, but i kinda want to have that back-up credit.

The class is Chem. I will be taking it at another university than my current college. My college do not have summer schools so that is why i am taking it at somewhere different. Main question is that after doing some classes for chem in the summer, am i obligated to send the grades to my current college? Or can i just forget about it?

thanks

I can't really comment on your university transcripts, but for medical school purposes, you will have to report ALL college courses you take, there is no way to take a registered course and "hide" it from AMCAS.

You can drop the class. Where I go, you have 1 week to drop it without it showing up on your transcript (and you get a full refund). After that, you can drop it and get a "W" and usually no refund.

Sadly, you can't just "not show" classes you've taken.

Do you mean dropping in the sense of withdrawing or not reporting it to your home institution for transfer credit?

While you are required to report all attempted college coursework on your med school application, I don't think any med school admission committee would care about a withdrawn summer school class.

If you finish the class with a letter grade, the class will be included in your med school application GPA, even if you do not report it to your home institution for transfer credit.

If it's at a community college, you don't want to take a med school prereq at a CC/JC anyway (it looks bad and med schools will wonder why you didn't take the course at your home institution). Also, any W is going to look bad, so if you're going to receive a W for dropping the course, consider it a no-go.
