Summer classes at UCI

It says I have a hold on my record saying i need academic advising and that an email will go out in June to meet with my advisor. However, deadline to sign up for summer classes is June 5th. Can i still sign up for summer classes

do u have the money to do so?! they don’t give financial aid for summer transfers, and the tuition will be too much(welll, for me!)

@Mik194 Have you heard about the Transfer Summer Start Program? I was thinking about joining the program since they allow you to take some classes during the summer in that program and let you live in dorms too. But I’m not sure how much it costs and if it’s worth spending the money for the program?

Yeah Im going to be doing that! @xcyl40‌ But not staying at the dorms. probably staying off campus

@Mik194 Are you registering for the first or second session? Or the entire summer? If I were to join, I would have to stay in the dorms, which could be expensive.

The entire summer if I get all my classes!! @xcyl40‌

Is it really possible to take classes in all the three summer sessions?! (I don’t think so)

2 summer sessions. yes @bolandgoo‌

I’m currently enrolled in one class during summer session C as a UCLA admit. It cost me around 1.2-1.5k

If you plan on enrolling, make sure you have sufficient funds on your CC/debit card. You can’t pay in installments, well, not that I’m aware of…I had to pay it all in one go.

I enrolled in the transfer summer start program already. I didn’t qualify for financial aid and had to pay, but there was a student there that had qualified for financial aid and was instructed to only pay the $150 fee. When I attended the info session, they said to take one class along with the transfer 2-unit course and that I could take up to 2 classes the second session. They have a pay only 8 incentive so you only have to pay for 8 units and can take as many as you’d like. I was told that the hold only applies to the fall quarter and would not affect summer.

Yay! Thank you  Did you sign up for summer classes via online or paper application? @vmladie03‌

Everything is online. There is nothing paper sent to the UCs except perhaps transcripts and financial aid info.

@vmladie03 Any ideas on how much the program costs for just one session?

Nah if youre doing transfer summer start you have to hand in the paperwork for it. @k4201505‌

@mik194 I signed up through the summer session office with a paper application. I’m pretty sure it’s paper only.

@xcyl40 it’s $271 per unit plus a mandatory $150 fee. If u do only the transfer summer start and one class in the first session, it’s already 6 units so it might be worth doing the “pay for 8” and taking classes the second session.

I was wrong then, sorry about that.

Did you pay with a check @vmladie03

why don’t you guys just take summer classes at your CCC and then submit your transcript again later? take some GE UC transferable units!!

In order to transfer in 2 years I need to finish my lower divs that arent available at CC! @boolandgoo

@Mik194 I paid with my debit card, but I they ran it as credit. I thought they only took cash or check, but I guess for summer credit it ok.
