I’m thinking of taking two philosophy classes in my first session. Is it a good idea to take two classes in one summer session? I would like to ace both classes.
Philsophy at UCB is supposed to be one of the campus’s hardest majors.
One of the summer classes I wanted to take is already full in every section.
Take 12A over the summer with me! (assuming you haven’t taken the prereq’s because no schools to my knowledge have them)
I’m going to be taking my three philosophy courses before I (hopefully) transfer through concurrent enrollment - I was considering taking 25A and 25B during my fall semester to get everything completed early, but I figured it’d be way too much.
I also talked with a Philosophy major who was having a hard time in 25A: “Aristotle is kicking my ass right now” so yeah, if you’re aiming for A’s, it’s probably best to take advantage of the summer courses IF possible .
Misread it - if you’re dead-set on taking two classes in the summer, you can take two in different sessions. That way, things will be concentrated but more spread out. Two four-unit courses in one 6-week session can be terribly intense, but it can be done.
Just make sure you don’t mess up your GPA out the gate, @goldencub.
@lindyk8 The major has 3 prereq’s that I will be spreading out, taking 1 in the summer, 1 in the fall, and 1 in the spring, all at Cal. I do hope I don’t mess my GPA up, haha.
Ohhh, @goldencub, I thought you meant you were taking all three in summer… Big difference. :-B
