ok so i need to take summer a but i will be in Japan for two weeks! can i still pass?

If you take online classes, you’ll have no problem with passing as long as you keep up with the work.

If you take on-campus classes, then whether you pass or not would depend on timing. Most professors aren’t going to view a trip to Japan for 2 weeks as a reasonable excuse for missing an exam, for example (unless it’s for some extenuating circumstances).

Your question isn’t just a black and white question; there’s no simple yes or no answer. Some classes you could probably just show up the first and last day and pass no problem. Some classes you likely would have to show up to almost every class to even have a chance at passing.

Ultimately it’s going to depend on what classes you’re taking and what professor you have.
