That’s what I’m worried about too Kyotoraz. I think my GPA will be good, but if they have to place the Cap students and have taken peoe who finished their 30 hours they might not have space for us.
Does anyone know if engineering has filled up early in the past? I have very good grades and ECs, so I am confident I have a very good chance of being accepted based on my stats, but I am also worried that as a transfer, engineering will be filled up by the time they review my application in May.
Application is finally in review
My application went into review as well today.
Ah man, mine isn’t yet. I expect it to soon though because I have over 30 hours. I sent it in kind of close to the deadline though but I don’t know if that actually affects things.
Dang, I tried to transfer in 53 but they only gave me 41… and my GPA dropped from a 3.5 to a 3.35… well, it was nice knowing you Austin. Dang, and I had instate. crud.
mine is in review as well!!! I’m so excited and nervous omg!!
mine finally changed to in review on top but my status below still says complete/on time
oh well! I’ll take what I can get!
Mine is in review too. Good luck, ladies and gents!
AHHH actually mine says “in review” on top as well!!! Shit, I’m so nervous! Probably not gonna get in but at least I’m one step closer to knowing I hope they aren’t as hard on out of state transfer students as they are to freshman. My guess is that they aren’t because there is less auto admission in transfer students so they have more room. Also helps that I’m over 30 hours. But who knows.
Good luck to all of you!
Looks like I went into review yesterday as well! Glad things are finally starting to move forward
Boy am I feeling a bit eft out.
Anyone have a ballpark idea on how long the “in review” process lasts? I know we shouldn’t really expect it until mid April but at this time it seems like a long time. But then again, I know it’s not really in the hands of an admissions counselor literally being review, because then the decision would be there the next day. Maybe they do it in waves?
and @Toastyful hang in there! It will probably be up soon if you have over 30 hrs.
Lol mid march feels awfully long @summeroo , but most realistically I think that is what we can expect. From some ol threads it looks like a few students heard back the first or second week of April (some people even heard back on easter weekend a few years back.) So hopefully, we wont need to wait that long. Everyone wont hear back at the same time, but whenever the decisions start going out it seems like it goes pretty fast. It is also depending upon the different colleges…
Also please make sure to post your stats when you get a response back. It just gives an idea and maybe even hope to other applicants of who UT is accepting.
good luck to all of you esp @MathMeany because we are in the similar situation. and hang in there @kyotoraz and @gymgirl22 i have been told that they should have enough space left until spring ends in all the colleges except cockrell.
Gosh, scary, I’m applying for Cockrell and read it all the way on this thread that it is one of the hardest!!!
Freshman at UT Dallas
Current GPA - 3.94
College applied for: Cockrell
1st choice major: Chemical Engineering
2nd Choice: CNS unspecified
quality of essays: Pretty Good, reviewed by my English teacher
Letters of rec: 3 letters from English, Psychology & Calculus Professors
list of volunteer/extracurricular activities: Not much, 4 hrs/wk at a hospital with a total of ~100 hrs since high school
My application also came into review last night just like most of us also had yesterday.
Hmm okay cool. Yeah I guess I can’t be too hopeful as far as an early decision goes. Just gotta wait it out. But It’s good that mine is one of the first ones I guess - more room = better chance of getting in? Who knows! Nothin’ I can really do about it now.
