@MathMeany
the average cumulative gpa for PETE was 4.0 for external transfer students?
You know what other majors’ average cumulative gpa was 4.0 for external transfer students?

@TheOneInCS I think it’s because the deadline for scholarships passed so the layout is different
@punctiliouseye I’m not sure what the average GPA was, sorry if I implied that I did. I was trying to say that there were more 4.0 applicants than available transfer spots in PE last year, and by quite a bit it seems. However, I’d bet that there were a few with < 4.0 that got in so I assume the average was a bit < 4.0 . She even said that she kind of felt for students with high GPA’s that applied for (1st/2nd) PetrE/ChemE and ChemE/BioMedEng because it was so competItive–they still might not get into either one. I also asked about ME and she said it was in the middle (competitively).
@TheOneInCS mine says
"Decisions about financial aid will be made after you have been officially admitted and your financial aid application has been processed.
The deadline for the 2015 Continuing & Transfer Student Scholarship Application has passed"
@MathMeany
Hmm interseting
Thank u for info !
More 4.0 applicants than available spots

Holy shit
Can someone check the financial aid tab on their Status page and let me know what it says? Surely I’m over thinking this but the “after you have been officially admitted” part seems a little strange to me–just wondering if anybody elses says that.
@MathMeany Mine says the same thing. No worries!
@MathMeany
Mine says
Please check back.
Access to financial aid status information is restricted to admitted students. If you are offered admission to UT Austin, please check back to access your financial aid information.
@cdctransfer thanks for the quick response.
@TheOneInCS it’s weird that they say different things right? Did you fill out a FASFA/Transfer Scholarship App? Just curious
@MathMeany No… I did not apply anything.
kinda interesting lol
So does anyone actually know what kind of merit scholarships transfers can get? I looked at the list and all I saw was ridiculously specific ones like “you must have gone to this specific middle school in Texas to be eligible” and “your great grandfather must have fought in WWI for you to be eligible”.
Are there any more generic ones just for having good grades?
we are getting so close to finding out!!!
Do they calculate only transferable gpa or cumulative gpa for admissions.
What are my chances for Electrical Engineering.
Transferable GPA- 3.692
Cumulative- 3.86
A’s In all required courses.
The worse part is that only 25 credits are transferred for specifically electrical engineering students.
@blacksheep1234 I looked at last year threads and based on some out of state applicants, i looks like the admissions are more based on the GPA calculated from transferable courses. The cumulative GPA should ring some bells too, you have a good one there.
BTW, Did anyone call admissions this last week? I’m thinking of calling them tomorrow. The wait is killing. I’m looking at this thread and my application status a thousand times a day…
myutaustin I called them. Sometimes they say may, sometimes they say mid april, sometimes they say june, Maybe nobody knows when we are going to get the decision. I had a friend who got his decision last year in mid april while one friend got his decision in June or something although both had the same statistics.
So frustrating, they want to keep us away with a recorded answer:). I’ve a Chem exam this Tue, so will call them on Wednesday and I’m sure will get the same exact response as you.
When I started the application I was chilled but now as the date approaches I am dead scared.
@blacksheep1234 Me too lol.
Can someone tell me if UT does “rolling admission” for transfers? I thought no–and then I saw this: (D9 pg. 14)

Hmmmmm.
