@summeroo Keep me posted on what you hear, when you do! From what I have read you seem to be the closest to my situation so I’m anxious to hear your decision!! Good luck!!!
@Yoohooos , This is very hard on you. The unlimited hours on application work, anxious moments + money spent, all of it not even helping how to make the subsequent applications better.
By chance does anyone know if they email you about your decision immediately when it’s on MyStatus or is there a delay? I just want to know if it’s unnecessary to actually log into mystatus severa
@cagirl24 yup of course! I will post my result, accepted or not.
Side note: could everyone post their result even if they are rejected? Based on last year’s thread people almost only posted if they got accepted so it doesn’t really help as far as getting an idea as to who is getting rejected. But hopefully we all get in
According to my status, they will post a decision on my status within 24 hours of making their decision. I’m pretty sure it updates online first and the email comes second. I know they are not in the same system, but I just got accepted to texas state, and it appeared on my online portal about 3 days before I got the actual email. @summeroo
They will probably email you telling you a decision has been posted, but there’s a good chance there will be a delay. Another school I applied to didn’t send the email for like two days after the decision was posted
Am i the only one who feels that this wait is the longest wait in my life.!!!
I may be wrong, but I don’t think they send out an email. When my brother got accepted a few months ago, he never got an email and never checked his online status since he never expected to be selected. We got the information via USPS mail a few days after.
When Texas State updated my status, it was on a Friday night at like 2am California time. So someone in the admissions office was working late… anyone think there’s a chance someone will be making decisions on a Sunday? If I have to wait one more day, I might have a brain aneurism…
I’ve been reading the 2013 thread and about 20 students found out the Sunday before mid-april. Which is today… do we think that could hold any validity?/
Lone Star Community College
- CGPA 4.0
- 41 Hours completed–all Chem, physics and maths courses completed. 12 credits in progress
Cockrell School of Engineering - 1st choice Petroelum Engineering
- 2nd choice Mechanical Engineering
- 1 letter of recommendation from Chem prof. and 1 from Physics.
Should I be worried? I really can’t wait now and I am starting to over think.
PetE sometimes rejects 4.0s because there are so few spaces, but there’s no reason to be worried about Mechanical with those stats
So UT might not even look at applicants that are still completing their 30 hours? Theres no way…
Is this just for cockrell or anyone who has applied with under 30 hours? @Yoohooos
I hope we can get our decision in 7 days…
That sucks for people who won’t have 30 hours by the end of the semester. Since they’re being dicks to people with less than 30 hours, I’m worried that they’ll be dicks to people close to 90 hours. I have 70 hours so now I’m getting paranoid.
@Toastyful you have nothing to worry about, it’s only if you are over 90 hours that they are discouraging you from applying. They will however request you to take 60 hours from UT for your bachelor if I understand it correctly,
Hey guys, I’m currently a freshman at TAMU that applied to transfer this coming fall. Super nervous like the rest of you guys. I’ll go ahead and list my stats and such in case y’all wanted to add me to the list you have going.
Texas A&M University
Biology Major (Pre-Med Path)
Current GPA 3.72 - 14hrs, 14 in progress
Community College - 4.0 GPA 21hrs
Applied for COLA
Philosophy (was planning on either minoring at TAMU or switching completely)
2 Letters of recommendation, one from an UT Alumni that was my employer at a restaurant for 2 years, one from a philosophy professor for an upper level course here at TAMU.
Feeling pretty confident in my two essays.
Anyways, I’m really looking forward to hear back. I was offered PACE last year leaving high school but declined. If I don’t get in this time around I’ll really beat myself up about it.
So the people who are finishing their 30 hours this semester are basically screwed? Ugh, why would they do that?!
@pnkvilas I’m thinking its based more towards applicants seeking to go into Mccombs and Cockrell. Other schools should be fine but I am going to find a way and call admissions tomorrow to clear everything up.
