omg… May 1st…
I really hope we don’t have to wait until May. I’ve barely made it to mid April.
I feel bad for you guys…It’ll be worth it once you guys get accepted!
Two months and two days until June 15th… I just want to know! I am tempted to send my non-refundable $250 housing fee to my safety school but I also might stay at my CC if I don’t get in. Ugh. This is killing me.
Hi y’all, I’m new to this site…just found it…! I’m a COLA transfer applicant. I’m very frustrated by this whole process because I’ve talked to numerous different people in UT’s undergraduate admissions office about when I could expect to hear a decision…long story short…I’ve been told “Any day now,” “June 15th,” “May 1st,” “Mid-late April,” “6-8 weeks from March 1st,” “Mid-late May,” and so on. I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN WE WILL HEAR AND I’M GOING TO LOSE IT. End of rant. In all seriousness, perhaps UT has no idea when we will hear…but I am tired of waiting.
@Yoohooos Right? I don’t understand how we all get a different answer. @summeroo @cdctransfer Here is how the conversation went…
“Hi, I’m an out of state transfer applicant and I’m wondering when you are expecting to have those decisions made”
“On May 1st.”
He said said ON May 1st. But I find it very hard to believe he didn’t mean BY May 1. And I’m not entirely sure he heard me say “out of state” transfer and not just “transfer”. Can someone else call and see what they say about out of staters, or Moody?? We can’t wait until May guys.
@cagirl24 breathe lol , atleast your not in the group of people that submit transcripts after the semester since we have less than 30 hours lol , and find out late may / early june
@MyLonghorn If that…
@kyotoraz what do you mean by if that?
@MyLonghorn For all we know they could even take longer with people still trying to finish their hours.
@MyLonghorn I like that “fishing their hours” though. loll
Hey everyone, just wanted to say that I talked to UT admissions today around 4 PM central time and I asked when decisions will be made and she said, and I quote, “sometime in May” so hopefully we all hear back sooner than later!
I won’t last till the end of May lol
Ugh, I already got accepted to UTD (my fallback school), and class registration will start before decisions are made
I’m in a pickle
I’m still hopeful for mid-to-late April. I mean, that’s when 30+ folks started hearing back the past couple of years… why would it change this year? It’s a little ridiculous. I’ve already registered for classes at my current university just in case.
@summeroo I agree! All the past threads have been mid April. No idea why this year it would suddenly change! Keeping my fingers crossed for us to get some news soon!
I decided to see if I could find any archived versions of this page:
http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/transfer/admission/after-you-apply
I was able to find several.
As of right now the “Timing for Admissions Decisions” section reads:
“We review each transfer application individually and consider each in relation to the admission factors for the university and for the major(s) to which each applicant applies. As a result, it can take quite a while for admission decisions to be made.
-Most transfer applicants to the summer/fall semester are notified of their admission decision by June 15 although some decisions may be made earlier.
-Most spring semester transfer applicants are notified in November.
-If an applicant’s qualifications are outstanding, he or she may be notified relatively early in the application cycle.
-However, because many majors are competitive, most decisions are made only after we know the qualifications of the entire pool of applicants (following the application deadline).”
On June 4, 2014 and July 4, 2013 the “Timing for Admissions Decisions” section read:
“We review each application individually and consider each in relation to the admission factors for the university and for the major(s) to which each applicant applies. As a result, there isn’t a specific date by which we make decisions.
-If an applicant’s qualifications are outstanding, he or she may be notified relatively early in the application cycle.
-However, because many majors are competitive, most decisions are made only after we know the qualifications of the entire pool of applicants (following the application deadline).
-Most applicants to the summer/fall semester are notified near the end of May.
-Most spring semester applicants are notified in November.”
There are a few subtle differences.
Thoughts?
I still didn’t go through the whole comment, @MathMeany , but this sentence “Most spring semester applicants are notified in November.” is FALSE STATEMENT!!! LOLLLL I was in that thread all the time since September, and some of them notified by January, which I saw that someone said previous year (2013) notified by 20th December
Today the answer was that decisions will “go out fluently”, that there is no set date for decisions and to keep checking my status for updates. At least that’s better than May 1st lol.
Everytime someone calls about the date they just throw darts at the calendar and say that day
