During the summer (late July/August) for one week i am going to a NJCL convention in California. it'll be a fun and great opportunity that i can't miss.

If i decided to go to the UT summer freshman program would it possible to miss that particular week of classes (Mon-Thurs)? Would I be able to make it up somehow??

Are you planning on taking classes during the summer before you get admitted? If this is the case, I might recommend either dropping these classes or skipping part of the convention. Summer classes go much faster and if you miss four days, that's like missing 2 weeks of fall semester classes.

there will not be a summer freshman program for the summer of 09

well that solves my summer conflict problem.

but now knowing that there is no summer freshman program is even worse...there's no middle ground. it's either accepted or denied.

sigh

No SFC? That really sucks--everyone I know who did it had a great time.

And NJCL is awesome, but if you do end up admitted for summer I would not recommend missing a week of class for it. Because summer is only like 8 weeks long, each week you miss is like missing a month of a regular class.

As far as I know there is still the CAP program. So you still have that.
