So what should I do in the summer here? Any ideas? Obviously I can't go to the beach...I mean I have lots of work for my two classes but I'll still have time on the weekends to do stuff. The thing is, not many people are here who go here, it's mostly like high school kids and middle school kids in summer college and sports camps. I mean I'm actually making some new high school friends haha but still...

get the guide from visitithaca.com (or maybe .org) and they have a list of all the good stuff going on that you'd never even consider.

I liked going down to the commons and reading a book in starbucks. or going to the neat stores there. There's also the big movie theaters at pyramid mall. I went for long bike rides along the lake. did some fishing with friends. got wasted with friends, but not so much. went gorge diving. hung out at new restaurants in college town. took some wine tours. bought some wine at the wine tours. see if cornell theater is up (both movies and acting). see what concerts are comming in. check the papers for community events. hang out with some new people at RPCC. eat at The Heights. Eat there again.

Take a quick morning dip in the gorge. Take a nap on the Arts Quad. Wake up and play frisbee. Nap again. Get some lunch at the Dairy Bar. Study for fifteen minutes in Libe Cafe. Saunter down to the Commons. Enjoy a smoothie. Play chess. Head back up to campus. Go fishing in Beebee Lake. Bring a picnic. Sneak up to the roof of the Ag Quad bulidings. Mosey on back to Collegetown. Light the barbecue up and cook the fish you caught. Keep the beer on ice and try to chat up the cute girl who lives upstairs from you. Try to convince her to go skinny dipping with you the next morning. Make last call at Chapter House. Climb back up Buffalo Street. Fall asleep on the couch on your front porch, stars overhead and crickets chirping.

Repeat ad infinum. Heaven on earth. Every single day.

On the weekends: Definitely bike to all of the state parks. If you are venturesome, circumnavigate Cayuga. Also make sure to frequent the farmer's market and make it to the Grassroot's Festival. Check out both the observatory and the lab of ornithology. And join one of the many sports leagues around town.

If you are reallly bored you could help me out by taking pictures of the campus and the dorms in hasbrouck so I could see what they look like (haha just kidding)

these are all good ideas thanks everyone...there definitely is a lot to do. however cayugared i DO have like 5 hours of class a day hahaha i can't nap constantly :D

vcoleman...the dorms at hasbrouck you would not want to see pictures of....pm me if you actually want them though haha

oh and gomestar have you ever eaten at john thomas or madeline's? they're good too...yea i need to eat a LOT this summer :)

is madeline's the place on the edge of the commons?? If so, yes! I had an excellent cornish hen that had like this sweet glaze and everything. The desserts are also delicious, though my eating routine doesn't leave much room for sticks of butter w/ some flour and doused in sugar ... as delicious as it is.

also, check out the lost dog cafe on the west end of the commons, technically across the street. Great sandwiches, I've always had really good food there. The tea is good as well.
