Hello! I am a transfer student and I am transferring to UCD. I signed up to take two online summer classes at UCSC, I see the policy on UC students at other UC’s but do I still need to get it approved and meet the requirements to take classes at other schools even though it is summer and I haven’t technically started yet? Also, I signed up for the classes after the I updated my coursework in the portal, so will that be an issue? Thank you
Get permission from UCD
Who can I contact at UCD for that?
Through your portal. Ask your UCD advisor if you can do it. You’re accepted to UCD, right?
Yeah! I already SIR’d and such. Thanks!
You can take summer classes, but be aware that fees are more expensive because technically you’re not a student at UCD yet. Also, it will affect your UC GPA once you get in, so be sure you can get decent grades. Good luck!
Oh, btw, I misread your original post, I thought you were planning to take online summer courses at UCD. Are you a TAG transfer student or just a regular transfer from another UC? I’m asking because if you attended both CCC and UC and you TAG to UCD, then there is a cap of 80 sec units / 120 quarter units, and if you exceed that maximum, then the Dean may have to review your case before admission.
