I'm trying to find any medical research opportunities or cancer research opportunities (unpaid/paid internship-it doesn't really matter for me) in my area but I couldn't find any.

Do local hospitals usually have those opportunities?
I need a program where you don't need a US citizenship or perminant residence
and where I can commute(which would be long island but I can commute to New York City or as far as New Jersey and Connecticut--I can go there by train)

Does anyone know any hospitals or programs that have research internship/opportunities which deadlines did not pass yet?

bump...anyone please?

looking for this myself... please share :)

There are a lot of SSTPs out there, where they have biomedical research as a "topic" that they have available.

I've tried to search for some biomedical research stuff too, but they are either available to juniors (which I'm not), or I'm not eligible because I don't live in US territory. Ugh.

For LI, have you looked into Stony Brook University? The programs might be full but they have a lot of research opportunities. Maybe get the names of professors and start sending emails or call them. Offer to work for free, you might get lucky.

I've dedicated countless hours in search of internships and found out that many do require valuable research experience as well as a compelling resume. The reason I have resisted applying to the many biomedical research programs near my area and limiting myself to very few is for the reason that those programs are much more selective and require you to ask many teachers for LOR's. However, I did apply to two which required LOR's and will possibly research for others.
