Summer program application question.

Well, I'm thinking of applying to the Harvard Summer School (no intention of applying to Harvard, really - it's just relatively close), and the application requires an example of a graded expository writing assignment. The instructions say:

Please send us a legible photocopy of an essay written by you and graded by one of your teachers. Ideally, the essay you submit will be typed, and the teacher's comments and grade will be esay to read. Please, no lab notes, poetry, or math sets; the writing sample should be English expository prose.

My question is: Do you think the grade I get on the essay I submit will affect the admissions decision? (I'm taking AP Eng at the moment - junior year AP Eng at our school is considered AP Lit, I think.) I have one typed essay from this whole year (we usually write in-class essays), but I only got a B on it. On the other hand, I got an A- on an in-class essay, but it's handwritten, and there's a random insert in the margins of the paper. Which one should I submit?

Why would you send a paper that you got a B on...

It can be from last year, too, you know.

Hmm... I didn't realize that. Good call. But do you think they'll hold something against me for that, too?
