I'm looking for internships or programs in the summer for someone who is currently a freshman, looking to enter an engineering profession after high school. Thanks in advance :)

I’m curious too!
(Hopefully this will help get the post a bit more attention, or at least renew it a bit)

Here’s a directory of programs:
https://cogito.cty.jhu.edu/summer-programs/

Wow, what a fantastic website, thank you very much!

Any chance you know of something similar for internships?

Actually, the same website has a list, but some of them are the same as the summer programs:
https://cogito.cty.jhu.edu/program-event-internships/

That website is definitely not comprehensive and doesn’t include MITES and SIMR, two awesome programs. Check out MITES especially if you’re low-income or URM.

Rose Hulman offers a program called Operation Catapult that you can do after your junior year of HS. Not too expensive, three weeks long, and you get to do an engineering project.

SIMR is only for rising seniors.

In addition to MITES, the MIT website lists some pretty great engineering / science / math summer programs on their website (some at MIT, some throughout the nation): [Summer Programs | MIT Admissions](Summer programs | MIT Admissions)

I don’t know where you live but both of my kids attended the UCONN Exploring Engineering summer program. It is for kids who are interested in Engineering but would like exposure to the different disciplines (Electrical, Chemical, Biomedical, mechanical, etc) to help them decide which Engineering specialty to major in. It is 5 day residential program and very reasonably priced. My son is now a freshman at UCONN majoring in Mech. eng.

[SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING – UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT](http://www.engr.uconn.edu/engineering2000.php)

I live in Massachusetts and I’m a freshman

I am also looking for summer program for my freshman DD.
UCONN Exploring Engineering looks good but it’s for current soph. and junior students.
