We are looking into some summer programs for my son who is a junior this year. He so far has applied to AMDA and Marymount Manhattan. He just interviewed with AMDA and will be waiting to hear. Does anyone have any thoughts on either program or any other programs in the New England, New York or New Jersey Area? Thank you.
Both NYU Tisch and Steinhardt have summer programs. Rutgers. Boston Conservatory. Rider. Manhattan School of Music has one that is for commuters only. U Arts in Philly. I am sure I am missing some in the region.
My kid went to Emerson in Boston after junior year. He loved every minute of it. It’s 6 weeks, so a pretty big summer commitment, but he learned a ton and it really motivated him to put the effort into his college search that fall.
The side effect was that he still had senior year of high school to complete, and after a taste of the MT college experience, he was mentally done with HS altogether.
Not in that geographic area, but my D went to the Penn State STATE program and loved it!
