Hi. I’m a sophomore who is going to graduate in 2020. I am interested in computer science and mostly STEM/science fields. I want to look for summer programs, but a lot of them are for juniors only. I got a letter from Columbia with their summer program, but I read on a thread that it’s not really prestigious and that it really isn’t worth it. I looked into “Girls Who Code,” but there wasn’t really a lot of information on it either.
Does anyone have any opinions on those programs I mentioned, and does anyone have summer programs in the science field for sophomores?
Thanks!
I’m also a sophomore graduating in 2020 and I am applying to the Columbia summer program. I’m doing a film course, but I have heard some good things about the program. They also have some good courses at BU and Brown for science that I have looked into. It seems like the ones for college credit are a lot more serious than the non-credit ones.
^bump^ sorry if I am hijacking this thread but I need almost same info.
I am class of 2020 - currently in sophomore and looking for challenging summer programs in STEM fields. I am interested Math/AppliedMath but could explore other stem areas (completed AP physics1, AP physics 2, AP Calculus AB, Chem (H), Bio (H), Jave programming (H) - these are imp stem classes taken so far). Most summer programs are either for juniors or charging big bucks - looking for a program that allows sophomores but don’t charge an arm for that (parents are ok to pay up to 3k max). Any ideas/suggestions? - geographically anywhere is fine for me but at a reasonable cost.
