<p>So I just sent the first set of emails to profs at local universities hoping they'd let me do research with them. It took me like half an hour to get the courage to click... I know that sounds really pathetic but I'm so afraid they'll send an angry email back telling me I'm not worthy of stepping into their lab or something.</p>
<p>Anywayyyyz, is anyone else researching for the summer?? Or in the process of trying to find a professor?</p>

<p>"I would be happy to talk with you about a couple potential projects."</p>
<p>I'm not sure how I should prepare for the talk... should I just do some research about her project? I'm paranoid because I'm definitely not well-versed in the physics of granular materials. =]</p>
<p>I was told I'd hear back about an opportunity sometime this week. I am checking my email every few minutes.</p>

<p>I did the exact same thing last year (last summer) and ended up with an internship at harvard medical school hospital with a MIT professor.</p>
