summer school

I am taking US History at a city college here in my town. My counsler told me that the class would be put into my GPA as a AP class. My question is, if I take this class would I still need to take the AP exam for APUSH in May??

No. You don't need to. The reason you don't is because AP USH and you CC USH class have different course numbers. So, if your school makes kids take the AP exam if they take the course, technically you never took the class.

Well I guess it all depends on what you want to do.
For example, if the class the you took at your CC will not transfer smoothly to the colleges you want to go, you might "standarized" your credit by the taking the APUSH exam.
Also, you might want to take it for the sake of it, although I would not recomend it because you would have review a lot, and who likes to take AP exams anyway?

You're probably going to want to take the AP exam in case you attend a college that won't accept your previous college credits.
