Does anyone know of any other summer programs with application deadlines in April?

Rejected… But not even sad! I was waiting for ssp all day but surprisingly got accepted to HSHSP and then rejected from SSP.

@ProximaCentauri saw you talking about the chinese qq group I’m also from mainland and currently studying in a boarding school in NY. I just got in the CA campus today : D how did u get into the qq group?

Admitted. To all who were not and contributed to this thread, I’m sad I won’t see you. All of you have awesome personalities :)

Waitlisters don’t give up. A lot of people are probably waiting to hear back from other programs. I’m hoping to get into TTU Clark Scholars, but I’m bracing for rejection.

@courtneythurston those links are getting censored I think…

Can anyone going to NM post the number they admitted to that campus? 35 were admitted to CA, and I’m wondering what the overall acceptance rate was.

@ any alumni, how much financial aid can I expect if my parents make ~80k ?

@hotwatermelon I think it’s always 36 per campus. In the acceptance email they said 35 colleagues meaning there are 35 people besides you. So I guess the acceptance rate was 72/754= 9.5%?

I have a few questions: generally how many that got in choose another program? Also, is there a way to find out where you are on the alternate list?

Rejected and not really surprised. My essays and recommendations were probably all too average.
Congratulations to all who were accepted!
Now I am just waiting for Clark Scholars, SAMS, and First Bytes decisions. If all else fails I can just take multivariable summer course and design a research project at local university.
It has been nice waiting with you guys for the decisions and it is too bad that I can’t meet you guys over the summer. Hopefully we can see each other in college next year!

@Holocaust Yeah, but the only part removed was the facebook[dot]com part. The rest of the url should be intact :)

Well, I actually did my research, so here’s to help all you people on the alternate list with me. Apparently there are about ~20ish people on the list, and last year, 5 of them went on to attend ssp.

@NULLZOID do they tell you if you’re on the waiting list?

@Sorool There’s army seap, an engineering internship, which is open until monday. Locations are in the south and midwest U.S., but not residential and no housing provided for out of state interns. I’m doing the app now as a last minute last ditch effort (I unwisely didn’t have a plan B), even though it’s unrealistic as I live in CA. From what I heard, it’s like navy seap but not sure if as prestigious.

There’s also PAVE Vanderbilt (5-week, seems pretty easy to get in) and math camps like PROMYS

@NULLZOID How does the waitlist work? Do they just pick random people off the list ?

I think Canada/USA math camp is open until the 15th…but there is a math quiz that you have to do and I’m not sure if there’s enough time now…

AHHHH!!! On alternate list also
Anyhow, wait, are you sure it’s 5? I have a friend who was an alumni who said that 7-10 get in (around 5 for each campus?).

@emywemy610 Yeah, the admissions decision says “alternate list”, and the email talks about the "alternate list"e

Would anyone who got admitted mind posting their stats? I’m wondering whether the prospect of having extensive experience in astronomy, physics, and/or computer science may backfire for admission to SSP.

@QQwang2015 Congrats! Well just add me 708906426 and I’ll add you to the group
I’m in NM though
