Summer Science Program (SSP)

Lethal, did you apply for financial aid?

wow. i feel bad for considering applying for fin aid.

bah...for all waitlistees, just got an email from mr. bowdon. he said we'd have final decisions in 2 more weeks. haha i'm slowly becoming desensitized to disappointment lol.

This sucks so much.... Only some get offered admission so.... it'll be like 5/1000
.....

Yet, i really want to get in.....

Anyone want to give their spot up for me? =D

I'm giving it up. But it probably won't be for you =(

From past experience, about how many people get waitlisted and about how many people get accepted from the waitlist?

Two weeks sounds about right...

Considering they just sent the documents for the people who applied for financial aid, if they answer back in the required ten days, its perfect.

btw, does anybody know how many people total are on the waitlist? curious to see where i stand.

kmac, if you look at past threads for SSP, it might give you an idea of what the waitlist stuff is like...

secshisuhee, no I didn't, (it would have been downright immoral of me to do so). But the funny thing is EVERYONE gets 3,200$ fin aid, from alumi grants and such. 6,800 - 3,200 = 3,600. From then on, up to what SSP wants to give you.

yahh..me too=(

Aaahhh....!!

Severe thunderstorm!!
ssssaavveee mmeeee~ :)

i LOVE thunderstorms

hahaha me too except when i'm standing in the middle of a flat field.
that scares the crap out of me.

i literally crawled home... hahaha

i hate thunderstorms... unless they come occasionally and they dun last very long... i luv the smell of the air rite after =DD

i hate spideys.... >.>

Yay :D full aid plus travel aid. I don't know where I want to go though: MITES or SSP :|

tell me SSP is more baller than MITES, please......

SSP is MUCH more baller than mites.
just the name should tell you that. :) hahaha

wwwooooo I saw my mailman drive into my circle so I ran out and I just stood by my mailbox, waiting for him to get to my house. And then (grrrr...) he thinks it's funny to SKIP my house, so I chased after him and made him give me my mail.

He looked at me weird when I told him I was excited about going to New Mexico for six weeks to learn science.

Some people just don't understand, do they?

no, secshisuhee, some people don't.

i need help/advice:
i have to promise some other thing that i have no plans from july 15-30th. but it's not entirely certain that i'll be needed during that time, and i won't find out if i have to go until june 1st.
i need to tell ssp about my plans by tomorrow. and i don't want to end up with nothing over the summer.

advice, please?

haha that's a tough decision.... but if you want to major in astronomy definantly SSP but if u are interested in science in general go to MITES

can someone add me for the list for SSP
i will be going to socoro

eternally, if it's not definite that you'll be in, I wouldn't risk it. But if you really really really want to be in it, then I suppose you could back out of SSP and go to whatever it is that you're planning to go to...
