Summer Science Program (SSP)

Hey, hey, hey. Why are CC members intimidated by a little bit of computer programming? :-P

I bet it won't be THAT bad. The handbook states, "You would not have been invited to participate in SSP if we though that you lack the necessary levels of [introductory material]." Review is helpful, of course, but nothing to not go to SSP is what methinks.

I think waitlistees are probably going to get contacted after accepted students reply back their decisions.

I actually didn't apply for the SSP this year. I'm currently a sophomore, but I want to apply next year.

Sorry for giving the impression that I was going this year! xD

I hope i get off the waitlist. Is it true they chose by number of boys and girls, so if a girl who got accepted does not go then they will only chose a girl off the list same for guys? THis to me seems really weird.

well

I seem to remember to have read earlier about how they have a certain number of girl beds and guy beds. You know, in like dorms, or whatever. So that makes sense to me...

If you're a guy, Don't GO!!!
lol

jk

But seriously, if you don't go, you'll give me 1 more chance to go. =)

Mr. Bowdon sent me an email today saying that my packet is in tomorrow's mail.

I was like "....", because every single day after I come home from school, I've been frantically running to my mailbox and wrestling with huge envelopes that LOOK like what an SSP Acceptance Packet would look like, but instead it's like stuff from Rice, or NYU(I still love you, though!), and freaking like Wisconsin or something. ***? I didn't even know there was a Wisconsin State College.
And THEN I was afraid that somehow the mailman had lost it in the stack of all the other academic-related mail that I should have gotten but never actually did get. Or he stole it because he wants to go to SSP too.

I better get these documents by friday. -.-
Or I will track down my mailman.

me too! i hope international mail doesn't take too long!

where do you live blue_sky?

eh, mines is too. i wonder how much though?

Anyone who had an income of less than $70,000 received full finanical aid plus travel aid?

anyone?

i got all that i requested for which was full - 100...

I think.

i also got travel aid

if you don't mind posting, whats ur annual income...b/c i dunno if i should've applied for fin aid.

Hey my sister goes there...

JK.

do you mind posting your income secshisuhee?

btw, mines is $67,000.

Oh god, narcissa.
I was afraid that I'd offended somebody...!

I was all ready to say something like, "Oh, I mean well I'm sure it's a really good school! I just have never heard of it before...!"

And then I read your jk. hahahahahahahahahahaha

Um...

my mom makes about 62k
and we have a small business that's been dying pretty quickly...
i think that's why they gave me what i wanted...

we expanded, but then last year, we had to de-expand because we lost so much money....

darn, i don't think i'm getting full aid. i'm hoping for the best, my enrollment materials are going to be sent tomorrow.

^ Hey, I wouldn't worry about finaid too much, XiΞiX. I have a pretty high income and got a bunch of aid (I didn't really believe the "generous financial aid" thing on their webpage until I found out how much I got). It really depends on your situation, I think. have you decided on SSP for the summer?

I really want to go, but I'm thinking about MITES also. SSP's financial aid is the only thing stopping me from making a decision. I NEED TO SEE IT!

just wondering, but how much did you get?

Guys I got my packet, and since I'm almost halfway across the world, all of you should have gotten/should be getting your packets real soon.
