Summer Seminar 2006

Haha, guy4Christ I never realized until now who you are! That is awesome. It took me a while to figure it out though, but I got it covered now :). Doolie for a day was pretty fun! I imagine it will be different for six weeks though!

I did have the quote memorized, but when it came to the test and they asked for the 16th word, I went completely blank. I think I put down patriotism because it was the only word I could remember. The answer was "the". Also I got who said it wrong because I put John F. Kennedy instead of PRESIDENT John F. Kennedy.

I enjoyed finding that 18'th word in pushup position with one hand trying to write on the paper. Can still rattle that thing off, but in that situation few people were getting it.

Don't memorize quotes before summer seminar...you miss part of the experiance then.

lol... (clapping) Off we go into the wild blue yonder..climbing hiigggh into the sun clap clap clap That was some good times...how did you guys all figure out that you were in the same element? i wonder if any of my element buddies are around..weird! Anyone have Kurt Wagner for an element leader?

hehe brings back old memories. one super element person got the rest of us to join... (who was that...) B5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My element leader was Beth. And the word really was "the". I thought I must have gotten it wrong, didn't think that could possibly be the answer. Turns out I got it right, sweet.

Wicked C-10! We had the broom.

sweet jesus, deathbyhappiness, who is this? I WAS IN WICKED C-10! I was wondering if anyone else would come....haha, hotel california, our spirit mission, that massive brawl for the broom while watching fight club...this is zach....but who are you?

Wow... I was C-9....

I remember when your broom was completely destroyed... pretty darn funny from my prespective.

hahaha squawk, I found it hilarious too...we were all just chillin in our element leaders room, watching fight club, and suddenly the door bursts open and everyone starts fighting for the broom...lol, all I can remember is someone yelling "SAVE THE BROOM!" before they broke in...and then the next day the mangled remains were held up on spirit hill...bahaha...to any who is considering Summer Seminar, go, it was great!

You were in wicked C-10?... truly, wow what are the odds. It's Misty. Who is this? Yeah, C-10 really was the best element to be in. We had so much fun.

Did any of you have an interview before SS aceptance? I applied on the 1st of January and have been contacted for an interview. What does that mean?I'm in California- does that have anything to do with it? Thanks

i was contacted for an interview before i was accpeted. i believe it was immediately after i submitted my app. i got the email saying i was accepted 10 days after i submitted the app. i think everyone has an interview...

Not everyone has an interview. I got my e-mail acceptance i think a day after I submitted my application.-no interview.

i didnt have an interview, but ive known my liason (two of them actually) since i was a freshman, so i dont know if they put in letters for me without telling me or what.

An interview helped me a lot. I didn't have good SAT scores at the time (from Freshman year) so it's what pushed me over the top.

The interview is pretty easy, and it makes the actual offical ALO interview your senior year a lot easier. They ask you why you want to go to the Academy, why the Air Force, why the military, a little bit about your family, all that kind of stuff.

Have applied to ss but have not heard yet- have an interview today. Wondering what it means if you don't get into ss? It probably is not a good signfor the academy application later. Does anyone know of kids who didn't get into ss but got into academy later? Thanks

I didn't get into SS but received my appointment early january.

Only about 800 get into SS, about 1200-1300 inprocess with each class on average.
