How many people usually go to SS out of that 800?

That 800 is the people in SS.

They gave us a statistic there that 45 percent of the people who attend SS inprocess the next year.

Got the email this afternoon. S got in the A session. Didn't think we would hear until March. S is very happy today not even mid-terms can bring him down.

Congrats! If you need any tips, there are obviously tons of people on here willing to answer for you!

Yeah!!!! I got an email today too. I'll be in Session 1. I can feel my stomach slowly unknot...

I know there has been talk of contacts and glasses related to being a cadet. How about for summer seminar? Contacts okay?

I don't think contacts are a problem with USAFA. But when I lived in C Springs, I had problems with dry eyes. Just bring drops so your eyes don't feel like you have corn flakes in them.

Contacts are fine at SS...I had a roommate who wore them.

My daughter (Navy_Hornet) just got the e-mail today that she was accepted for Session B. She put the application in on about the 3rd of January. Our ALO called and said she was in the second group, which he called "highly competetive" who needed an ALO recommendation. I guess the first group is those who get right in. He came by our home on Saturday the 14th and asked her a lot of questions and also gave her a heck of a sales pitch. He was pretty laid back but asked some tough questions which I feel she answered well. I guess his recommendation letter was good because she's in. Still waiting for February 1st to apply for the Naval Academy Summer Seminar.

Yea I have a meeting with my ALO for my SS application becasue I have only taken the act once and my science score was like apoint off. So wish me luck I hope to see y'all there!

Hey everyone I received the email today, I was accepted to Session A of the SS. Perhaps it would be cool for all of us Session A people to start contacting each other via AIM or email so we are heads up on everyone by already knowing several people when we get there and won't just be another stranger in the crowd. Now just waiting to hear back from USMA I really I hope i get into their SLS.

I'll start off the SS Session A contacts List.

Yeah, contacting people is a pretty fun deal. I talked to four people through the internet and I ended up being the Political Science seminar with all four of them on the first day of seminars. It was great. And I still keep in touch with my element. It's a great opportunity. You guys are going to love it. Don't make fun of me but I cried with a friend when I left because I loved USAFA so much. Just waiting for my appointment now... Congressman said it should be here in a few days. But yeah, anyway.. have fun, guys.

I'm in also!!
I recieved the email today, and will be in session A.

I am very excited, and don't think that 11 June will come fast enough.

PM me with contact information.

Hey ZMAN07 just sent the pm, congrats on your acceptance, everyone else feel free to PM me with contact info.

Hey I just got my email that I got in today (thanks to my interview with my ALO) so here is my question...Who is in Session B? That one goes from June 18-23! I would love to talk 2 someone there and also give me a heads up if anyone finds cheap plane tickets. I just look and I found one on Hotwire.com for $409 that is the cheapest I have found anyways. Any help ticket wise would also be wonderful.

where are you flying from. If I buy my tickets at least a month in advance i can get flights for about $225 to Denver. Then you can get a shuttle for about $30 to Colorado Springs.

I can fly out of Toledo, OH or Detroit, MI. The cheapest I have found is for $309 so far now that I have looked a little more.

hi this is my first post. I applied for the summer seminar and received an email today saying that they are seriously considering my application and i have an interview on friday...does this sound good or bad for my chances of making it in?

hey bigskier01, I would say that you have a really good chance of making it into SS if they took the time to email you and tell you this, is your interview in person or over phone? Mine came up unexpectedly 2 days after I sent in my app, I found it very easy and laid back not too many tough questions. It was about 45 min long. Just get off a good first impression, have an open mind with him and put off to him that you are on top of everything and know very well what you have to do and are intending to do it (even if you hadn't intended to before) because I'm sure you deffinately will be when he says you will be accepted if you do so. What are some of your stats? I'm in session A I hope to see you there :)
,Justin

Yeah, Don't sweat the interview. It will be good to get to know your ALO, since you'll be working with him for the next year and a half or so.
Like Justin, mine was laid back, and the types of questions were those that you really can't get wrong: they were mostly "What is your opinion about..." I don't really think that they care what the answers are, they just want to see that you are confident, and can support your opinion, as well as think on your feet, etc.
Here's a few hints: dress nicely, bring a copy of your resume to give the ALO (this impressed the **** out of him), and bring a copy of your SAT/ACT/PSAT report (ditto above)
