Summer Seminar?

well, i received my acceptance package from the USNA regarding SS on March 10th, and a friend of mine's on March 7th. I'm pretty sure the USNA mails out acceptances at many different intervals.

P.S. i think the reason i got mine relatively early is because i live so close (VA)

klenn, a guy in my squad when I went last year lived in Japan and had just flown in. Needless to say, he maxed out almost everything and was the most physically fit person in our squad. I wouldn't worry about jetlag.

i didn't apply to the SS until near the end of march, one of the last days the application was open. was that a bad move?

Rambo91,

yes, because it is based on rolling admissions. first come, first serve baisis

Thats wierd... Cause I applied a few days after it opened and I still haven't heard anything from them. heard back from USAFA but not USNA yet.

dd applied the day it opened and has heard nothing yet either. i expect there will be notifications in the next week or so.

My son applied on the first day...still hasn't heard anything. He called them up on the 3rd and they said that they hadn't made their decision regarding him yet. He will call again this week. My other son, now a Youngster, also applied on the first day and heard mid March. I have no real clue as to why the difference except that my older son's grades were pretty much perfect. Younger boy has "above average" grades/ football/community service etc...even more than the older one. No worries though...My son is still cool no matter what!

Don't feel worried. Last year I applied for SS on February 1, 12 midnight. I did not hear until several months later that I was accepted. It is hard to wait but you will hear soon enough! ;-) Go Navy.

I called last year and found out I was accepted. Two hours later, the mail comes and there's my letter. Calling ruined the element of surprise for me. :p

My son applied Feb 28 and his classmate applied Feb 1st, neither have had a response. We are from CA so I'm assuming there is more competion because of the size of the state. Has anyone else from CA heard back? I see some people call the Academy to check their status, is this a good idea? I know I should be patient some days it's tougher than others. Congratulations to all who have been accepted.

My son just called again. They "regretted to inform him". Oh well.He just keeps on working. He can now take the SAT/ACT again during those Summer Seminar times......and doesn't miss any school.

"Has anyone else from CA heard back?"

wwalrus - I'm in San Diego and got my acceptance to Session 3 around March 20. I know being patient can be difficult, but hang in there.

Good luck to your son

Admissions is hoping to get out all the letters next week.

Still haven't heard. Is this a bad sign? Do they send the rejection letters last? Obviously patience is not my strong point.

Uor son got a call 2 weeks before 1st session started asking if he would like to attend, so don't give up hope. Even if you don't get accepted to summer seminar does not mean you have no chance of getting an appt.

i got my acceptance letter on march 18th and i live in CA

I applied and got I know that I got into the second session because I called the admissions office, but how long did it take for any of you guys to receive a letter? Because I haven't received one yet, and I applied 4 weeks ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

most will find out from mid april to the end of april. patience guys. just wait till the real application. that SUCKS. there is so much more waiting and it will drive you crazy

Thank You so much, that makes me feel a lot better. I can't wait to go to Annapolis!

With no candidate # to refer to, what is the best way to send info to update the prelimary appication?
