Is it possible to spend a few days with a Dartmouth Student if you called the admissions office? I visited the school during the spring but would like to get a better feel of the school during the summer which everyone talks about particularly because the weather on the day i visited was miserable. I had a friend who boarded a house at brown for a weekend and was hoping dartmouth had a similar program

If you don't know any current 9"s who are on for sophomore summer that can but you up for the weekend, this may be the next best thing. Dartmouth has a program- Destination Dartmouth, Dartmouth bound (the name changes by the year but it is essentially the same program) that students apply for (the application deadline has probably passed). If you are selected for destination dartmouth, they bring you up to campus for about 2 days (however, you are not housed with a current student). You get the opportunity to sit in on classes, a get a taste of dartmouth.

As I stated while the deadlines have passed at it would happen sometime in the next week or 2, it does not hurt to ask admissions if it is possible that you can come while that is taking place (you probably be responsible for paying your own way.

hope this helps

Note***

Just read Jen's posting stating that she will be hosting during Destination Dartmouth. So yes, the process has change since D attended summer 2003.

I kind of lied... I guess I'm a meal host. Lol. My duties include eating a pizza dinner, taking the prospie to a dining hall, and escorting prospies to my Friday classes.

...so not exactly hosting but I love hosting so it's close enough.

Sephiroth if you don't know any Dartmouth students you can maybe stay with me -- I gotta ask a few people first. Let us know what Admissions tells you about overnight hosting.
