I noticed that majority of people are volunteering. Currently, I'm just reading for fun, taking summer classes, and have a job. Just wondering, where do you guys volunteer and how much helpful would it done for me. I need new friends as going to community college is hard to establish friendship.

animal shelter. I like dogs, although I feel guilty that it seems I prefer to help dogs than human beings.

I volunteer at the humane society as a dog walker. It’s a solitary job so I haven’t made friends doing it, but I started doing it to occupy myself while I was in community college. Love it so much that I still come back to do it now that I’m at a university and really don’t have time.

ISUclub, you are helping humans too. Animal shelters keep dogs off the streets, and dogs on the streets cause trouble. Plus when you help a dog find a forever home, you are helping a person get a new best friend.

I realize that. However I’m paying more attention to world hunger, homelessness, poverty, stuff like that.

I’ve volunteered at my church, food pantry, local farm, farmers market etc…

Depends on what you’re interested in, for me it looks like I like getting my hands dirty haha
