Summerschool night life?

<p>Hey everyone,</p>

<p>I'm a dutch student, who's going to do 6 weeks of summerschool at UCLA this year. I was talking to a couple of friends, and the topic of parties came up. It made me wonder what the scene is like at UCLA in the summer. Is it mostly house parties, frat parties, clubbing etc? Of course this is not the most important thing of my UCLA experience, but it is a part of studentlife for me, especially in the summer! </p>

<p>Other thing I was wondering is how tough they check ID's etc in bars and clubs in LA. I'm not advocating underage drinking, but I'm 20 and have been legal here in Holland for the last 4 years now. This means I'm accustomed to partying a bit. It's not even about the actual drinking, but more the getting into the clubs since I'm a mayor dance-fanatic. Although a drink every once in a while would be perfect.</p>

<p>Not as many frat parties, though there are still frat guys partying in their houses. A lot of apartment parties, sure. Internationals like you make a big part of the summer school scene because a lot of us everyday students aren’t around. Clubs in LA - there are 18+ dance clubs out there. Bars and clubs are pretty strict about carding in this city. There are a few that don’t but you have to work to find them.</p>
