Hi, I'm a french guy who plans to go to ucla for the english summer program but I have a few questions about the summer life at ucla. Is there things to do: party, nightlife, sport... for under 21 students..

thx for your answers

sorry if I made some english mistakes

Party? Well, during session A, most of the normal college students are home and you have internationals, high school kids, and others on the UCLA campus. During session B or the second half, you have mostly regular UCLA students. Not saying that partying is going to be the heaviest priority during that time.

Night-life? You have the entirety of Los Angeles if transportation is not an issue?

Sports? Whatever professional teams are playing during that season. (I'm assuming that's what you mean.) I can't know of any clubs/teams on-campus during the summer. I'm assuming you can go to UCLA Recreation and browse their summer classes (sports) offerings.

Well I don't thing I will have a car so it may be hard for me to move in los angeles which is huge. I looked at the UCLA recreation an it looks really nice their is a lot to do but do you think I'll be bored or have fun and meet some people because I don't want to spend all my vacation without having fun even though I come to UCLA to improve my English... I may have to plan to go to another college (UCSB, UCSD...) What's your advice?

I did last summer new as transfer and 20yrs old. I was able to party 4-5x per week and gain lots of weight... lol. I was only taking 1 class each sesh though. Meet people and you can have as much fun as you'd like. Apartments are not as rowdy during the summer but stuff still definitely goes on. Big Blue Bus is amazing (25 cents with bruincard). I take the bus or bike on adventures all around LA! Bring some whiskey and make an irish coffee at starbucks. Do drugs in venice. Talk to random people. make friends. fun is what you make it. Get naked! The best times I have are exploring LA on my bike... right now I love to bike to hollywood (but i'm 21 now).

UCLA rec is nice... santa monica mnts are nearby and i go hiking a lot. You could learn to surf through ucla rec too.
