Sunday at the Square

My D received the Sunday invitation and the Scholars Program letter from Steinhardt. We live in California. I don't think we can come out to NY two weekends in a row to attend this and University day. Any advice on which day we should attend?

Thanks.

seriously... are any applicants still sunday-at-the-square-less and rejection-letter-less?

I am.

yeah, you and 96% of the applicant pool. Chill, you'll find out soon enough.

thanks. i need someone to coo me to sleep these days with all the rejections and waitlists pouring in. today i heard from three schools- two rejections and an acceptance. muh.

what schools

aaron, were you making up that stat?

because if it was top 4 percent, does that mean CAS people who got that got the university scholar honor program thing or whatever that was?

got mine a week ago, applied to tisch. i was quite flattered that i am the creme de la creme of the best film school on the east coast, but nyu better make me an offer i cant refuse.

I'm pretty sure I read that stat somewhere, but I make no guarantees.

Does anyone actually know for an absolutely 100% fact that this Sunday in the Square means that you've been accepted?

Sorry, I've just a little skeptical (probably because it's one of my top choices & because I'm pretty much certain that my credentials do not qualify me ANYWHERE NEAR the top of the applicant pool)

It says "for outstanding students in the entering class of '05."

Dear ****,
Sunday at the Square is an event only for students who will receive an official letter of acceptance on April 1. Your official acceptance package will come in the mail on April 1, but you can consider this invitation a little advanced notice! Congratulations!!

Best,
(signed name of Senior Assistant Director of Admissions)

do they change the letter for everyone? because mine definitely didn't look like ktml55's.

sorry for not clarifying, but when I received my invite, I was really confused so I emailed the university. That is the reply that I received.

yeah what i want to know is-- what percentage of applicants got them (meaning, how special am i allowed to feel?)

depending on the school...i know Tisch is 4%, arts and sciences is probably less.

Brutkowskiny-
Are you going? I'm planning on it, but I'm wondering if you got any more infomation besides that note.

What about the other ones, like the reception thingy (what percentage get them)?? Are these stats anywhere?

Is this the equivalent for Stern? I got this in the mail a couple of days ago and didn't know what it was at all, so threw it in the garbage... then a friend pointed me to this site and I saw that it might have been important after all. So I went and fished it out of the trash. It looks different to the other one posted, though... what's this?

Re: your post about which event to attend, I would think that the Sunday In the Square and Steinhardt Scholars are more imp. than University Day, simply because those were sent earlier to the top candidates that NYU is really wanting to attract. Plus, if you are still undecided, April 3 sounds better than April 10, because by then you are running out of response time.

That's not the equivelant for Stern. That's University Day (like a week after)

...i remember it being mentioned on like page 3 of this post...

...good luck looking...
