I don't know the exact number of Stern Scholars but keep in mind that there are 400 merit awards given each year. That is for all NYU colleges and they range from $1,000 to $25,000. A lot more people get the $1-2,000 ones than the biggies. Those of you who are having your travel arrangements and such paid for are in contention for the biggies because you are the students that NYU really wants to attend. It will depend on how many of that very top group decide to attend as to how the $$$ is doled out to the rest of you.

Most people who are invited DO attend. Also, I don't understand why someone wouldn't RSVP. That's just plain rude. If you're not able to go, let them know.

Gosh...it seems like tons of people got these Suday at the Square cards, I'm feeling really bad about the fact that I didn't get one. Did other CC's NOT get one???

plenty, but i guess they just arent posting on this thread. even though we got ones, it doesnt mean that you arent getting in, or that we are more deserving... its possible that they sent it to us because they want to raise SAT stats or whatnot.. but you still have a great chance of getting in if you are qualified...and admissions are so haphazard anyway... haha

Yeah...I know...I just really want to go to NYU and that probably won't be possible without a scholarship, and not getting a Sunday at the Square invite probably means I won't get anything substantial, if at all. Oh well....

Well, I got my Sunday at the Square invite, but nothing about the Presidential Scholarship, so I guess I can't go to my dream school. :( You know, come to think of it, I did mention as one of my career goals that I would like to be an Air Force pilot, and I also said that I am planning on taking AFROTC at Manhattan College. Could NYU have assumed I would be getting an AFROTC scholarship and didn't want to "waste their money" on me? Unfortunately, when I decided I wanted to do AFROTC it was too late to apply for this year's scholarship, and I may end up hating AFROTC and drop out, so I can't bank on it to pay for my other three years of college. Any thoughts?

Yea, I thought 20s sounded too low for the Stern Scholars--theres two from my school as well (me and my bro).

If Stern has 1000 students in each year, and their acceptance/enroll rates are equal to that of the university as a whole, and the top 10% of acceptees got "Sunday at the Square" invites, thats 250 potential "scholars," 750~ potential guests total. I guess thats reasonable.

someone was asking if anyone else didn't get the sunday at the square invite... i didn't, im sure im not in the top % of applicants (1390 SAT, three SAT II's (760, 690, 740) loads of APs and blah blah you get the idea, and I didn't get accepted into GSP, so now I'm thinking I didn't get into either CAS of GSP lol oh man reading this site really makes ya nervous... I know someone who got in who had no idea what this even was though, so dont fret too much
