SUNY at Binghamton Class of 2025 Decisions

Our guidance counselor requires it. You must withdraw all other apps immediately upon an acceptance from your ED school. All high schools should be doing this.

If you applied ED elsewhere and holding out then you shouldnā€™t have applied ED, since clearly youā€™re interested in other schools.

Does anyone think tonight will be the out of state decision release?

Total silence on Bing decisions. At this point, Iā€™d love someone to start a rumor just to keep people energized! :upside_down_face:

nobody knows :woman_shrugging:

Iā€™ll start a rumorā€“Binghamton not EA releasing any decisions until after Cornell releases ED decisions on 12/17 at 7pm ET in order to protect yield due to substantial overlap in applicants.

This is NOT TRUE (or at least I donā€™t know it to be true).

Also, I think this is very likely to be untrue because I think ED students have 10 days to withdraw other applications so basically that means Binghamton wouldnā€™t be sending out any decisions at all until the New Year. But you never know!

@MrRobot2018 I would be shocked if Binghamton ever had a problem hitting their yield. But then again, I never thought Iā€™d be living through a pandemic.

LOL you are the one who wanted someone to make up a rumor and now you got one!

Anyway, all colleges want their yields to be as high as possible. Not trying to insult Binghamton at all. But if they donā€™t make offers to people who are bound by an ED commitment to another school, it positively impacts their yield. Now this class of people may be so small as to not have any real impact on yield. But it is at least theoretically something an admissionā€™s office might consider when deciding on decision release dates.

That being said, this is completely made up because you asked!

According to Bingā€™s website: ā€œThe Admissions office will be closed Dec. 25 and will resume business on Jan. 4. During this time, we will not be releasing decisions or responding to communications (emails or calls).ā€

Theyā€™ll have to either release decisions before Dec. 25 or after Jan. 4 but before Jan. 15. Hopefully they start releasing decisions before the break!

Anyone OOS accepted today?

We are OOS. My daughter checked - nothing yet.

I donā€™t think anyone has been accepted from anywhere yet. It would have been posted here.

Yeah I know I thought maybe today OOS would be accepted. OOS always hears first.

I wonder if they are going to send all acceptances at the same time this year??

At this point the Cornell theory makes too much sense. But I kinda wish theyā€™d have done it before so I can at least be accepted somewhere before getting my Cornell decision.

Iā€™m the one that posted it, but truly it is just speculation.

I have the same concern with Michigan who hasnā€™t posted EA results yet either. Michigan also has substantial overlaps with Cornell, as well as all the other Ivys and Stanford so maybe they are waiting for those decisions to be released. (Michigan also extended the application deadline this year so that might be the explanation.)

Iā€™m hoping they come out tonight or tomorrow night!! Fingers crossed! I have a feeling tomorrow night but idk that might just be me really wanting it to happen lol! Good luck to everyone!
